Proverbs 31:30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth theLord, she shall be praised.
I have started and restarted this blog, because I don’t quite know what to say. With much thought and deliberation I decided to backspace a lot and consider a “less is more” approach.
In what world do I want my daughters to grow and thrive? I want them in a world where Ruth, Esther, or Mary is at the helm. I want them to live where kindness abounds and God is everyone’s first and last priority. I want a world where I don’t have to skirt around the truth to make a situation look empowering for women. I want my daughters to actually BE empowered. To me, there has to be more to the story than a person’s chromosomes to earn respect and receive celebration. I believe in character over gender, and that, my friends, is true equality.
I heard someone say something once about adhering to the next cultural mood swing. That ain’t me, sis. I do not care what is in style. I do not care how my friends or my significant other thinks I should feel (not that it even applies to this situation). I am who I am because I am strong, I am capable, I am a woman, and above all else, because He lives. I’m not putting stock into anyone or anything that doesn’t line up with what I know to be Biblically true.
With that being said, I believe God can and will use anyone and anything to exercise his will. As a people, we are given choices. When we make poor ones, we are left to wander the wilderness for 40 years (even after glimpsing the promised land). Still, at the end of that time, God’s will shall still be done. Let us hope and pray that our generation hasn’t made the journey that much longer for our children .
