Becoming Who I am Meant to Be

Well, here I am trying something new...again. I have a lot of good ideas, but sometimes my follow-through is lacking. I have made up my mind and am determined to let that be a thing of the past. I recently taught a lesson in Sunday School that talked about reaching your end game. Our goals should never stop. There should never be an end game until we reach that Heavenly Home. While we are here on earth, our goals should extent and multiply...they should continue to feed off each other from one to the next. A long time ago, my goal was to be an adult and do "adulty" things. I reached that goal (and it's lackluster at best). I want my adult life to be as exciting as my childhood. I have built off the childhood dreams I had. I graduated high school, graduated college, became a teacher, married my high school sweetheart, had my children, and now I am home raising them. I would never trade the privilege of getting to do that, but I also want to be a virtuous woman...THE PROVERBIAL WOMAN.
Proverbs 31
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
It's my job to raise my children to know the Lord. It is my job to protect them and prepare them for this world and the next. It is my job to support my husband. It is also my job to provide for my household using the God-given skills at my fingertips. Waking up each morning and having the ability to do anything at all is a much bigger gift than any of us deserve. My main priority every day is my kids, due largely to my husband and his job which allows it. I love to teach, but not more than I love to "mom." As long as I can stay home with my son and be at everything for my girls, I will. Not utilizing what God has given me would be a travesty, though. The Lord says in Ecclesiastes 9:10 "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might, for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom in the grave whither thou goest." There is no room for halfway in that statement. So here I am. I am all in.
“Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” I pray that God uses this experience to lead me closer to Him and help me to be a light to others. I desire your prayers as I start this journey. Here we go!
